Autumn/Winter 2008 Make-up Trends

Ladies - here’s the low down on how to sizzle your way through the cold season......

Eyes: This season eyes are Smoky in hues of blue and green – the colors on the runways of Proenza, Derek Lam, Shouler and Behnaz Sarapour were daring and bright in tones reminiscent of a 1970’s tie dye tee shirt – think acid bright and your on track.

You can make this look more wearable by opting for shades of blue and green from a more appealing palette of navy and moss. Keep it edgy by layering the color and adding lashings of mascara for a bold yet sophisticated look.

Skin: Skin is flawless but keep foundation to a minimum with a very sheer application. Anything heavier will turn your look from sophisticated trendsetter to circ du soeil chic so keeping it light is key.

Cheeks and lips: Opt for soft hues of pink and peach for a barely there flush that illuminates the skin and lips rather that adding too much color – this trends pairs perfectly with the smoky eye.

Another trend is bold lipstick in berry tones – if your going for this look keep the rest of your make-up to a minimum so as not to over power your face.

Nails: Liquid gold is the color du jour – this trend has carried on into the Spring 2009 collections so be prepared to see a lot of metallic for a while, but this season keep it at a minimum by restricting the use of metallic to your fingers and toes!
