Nail Trends Fall/Winter 09

Rarely does nail polish get so much coveted attention in the world of fashion. This season not only have the color choices been brazen but the texture has been changed giving us a whole new perspective on nail polish altogether.

With Matte polish in the center of the storm, Opi have brought out six colors to choose from with black and film noir red being at the forefront of the trend. There is also a clear top coat available that will matte any shade you already have in your collection so the choices are endless.

Of course, to any trend there is a counter trend and this season metallic has made a come back in standard gold and bronze tones but also a fresher graphite tone has emerged giving both camps (shiny & matte) an edgy feel.

In the Matte camp the hottest colors are:

Grey

Black

Film noir red

Navy blue

In the shiny camp the hottest colors are:

Metallic gold

Metallic graphite

Metallic bronze

With such a daring color palette to choose from nails look best kept on the shorter side with a slightly rounded edge.
