Make-up: Navy Blue smoky eyes extended out across the temples like an over exaggerated cats eye for stage drama. The inner rims of eyes were lined with black liner, which at times was also used to fill in the models eyebrows – cherry red satin stained the models lips. Skin had a porcelain look with a dewy feel.

Hair: Hair had a twenties feel with dramatic A line bobs augmented with lace effect sprayed on. Longer haired models had a more bo-ho inspired look with loose messy curls and a temple braid.

Monique Lhullier

Hair by Odile Gilbert for Kerastase. Hair was sculpted to its last inch with uber tight pony tails pulled to the top of the head and the ends formed into smooth shiny rings around the base of the pony tail.

Make-up by Val Garland for Mac Cosmetics. Eyes were cat-like and smoky taking a less traditional direction for the smoky eye in hues of navy, dark green and grey. Lips were understated in classic colors of coral, plum suede and toffee.

Carolina Herrera

Hair by Orlando Pita for Moroccan Oil. Moving away from messy updos, hair was polished and sleek with low side partings. Hair was pulled into low ponytails with the ends of the hair rolled and tucked into itself forming a neat detail in the nape.

Make-up by Diane Kendal for Mac Cosmetics. Make-up was understated and classic with black liner in a cat eye shape and deep ruby lips.

About me:

I was the kid at school who was always given nicknames. Most were cute but the ones that stuck with me were the cruel ones intended to make the other kid’s laugh – ‘flat face’, and ‘pancake head’ were particular favorites and, although maybe apt at the time, fuelled an obsession in me. I wanted to understand and fix what it was that others found different and funny.   So at the tender age of sixteen I immersed myself in the world of beauty, first as a hairdresser and then as a make-up artist, in a quest to fully understand what beauty was and how I could create it. Eighteen years later, after applying make-up to some of the most beautiful women in the world, I have come to the realization that beauty is in every woman, in the common and not so common features. I believe beauty is an attitude, an air of confidence or radiant energy that comes from within, and it’s the imperfections that make beautiful women the most interesting.  My work has appeared all over the world, from the catwalks of London and Milan to the billboards of the U.S and Australia. I am currently a freelance make-up artist based in Los Angeles. I am the Co Founder and spokeswoman for Kitten Vixen Cosmetics - a brand I launched with my sister four years ago.
