Back of the queue when the high cheekbones were being handed out? Short changed on chin definition? Is your face too round or square? Eyes too close or not close enough?
So your not rolling out of bed a perfect 10 but it doesn’t mean you can’t be by the time your ready to face the world.
Take off the paper bag and read on!
Here are my top tips to create what Mother Nature didn’t give you:
Downsize your nose: Blend a foundation slightly darker than your skin tone down either side of your nose from the bridge to nostrils. WHY? - Dark colors recede, so your nose will look narrower.
Dust a highlight down the center of your nose from the bridge to the tip – this will also make your nose appear thinner.
Double chin be gone: Warning - this technique requires thorough blending! Sweep powder two or three shades darker than your skin tone under your jaw line and chin. WHY - Faking a shadow creates the illusion of depth.
Demand great cheekbones: Or just create them quietly in your bathroom – Dust a colorless highlighting powder over your cheekbones, then apply powder one shade darker than your skin tone in the hollows of your cheeks for contrast.
Round face: Focusing blush on the center of your cheeks and blending it so the color is concentrated below the eyes will make your face appear narrower.
Square Face: Placing blush high on the cheekbones just below the corner of your eyes will help elongate your face – be careful here – you don’t want to continue your blush to your hairline a la 80’s Dynasty style – that is far worse than having a square face any day of the week!
Narrow wide set eyes: Don’t tweeze between the brows, growing brows closer together visually minimizes the space between your eyes – use a brow pencil to fill in whilst the brows are growing. Lightly sweep blush across the bridge of your nose to help draw attention away from wide set eyes. WHY – this will help focus attention to the center of your face.
Widen close set eyes: Using your finger tips dab a lighter concealer near the inside corner of your eyes – sweep darker powder shadow on a slant from the center of your lash line up to the crease at the eye’s outer corner to draw your eyes up and outwards.
