Is your Rudolf impression getting old?

It’s cold, wet and grey and as if that wasn’t bad enough, your nose has become the local temperature gauge. Whilst it could be argued that the “Rudolf look” is cute if it doesn’t match your shoes, purse or gloves its time to get rid of it.

Here are my top tips to overcome your chaffed red nose:

  1. Use a gentle exfoliator to remove the dry skin. Make sure it has moisturizing properties to help re-hydrate the rest of your skin. I like Aloe Vera Facial Scrub from Devita International $23.49
  2. Apply a calming cream to reduce the redness. I like Jurlique Balancing Day Care Cream with chamomile and rose $40.00
  3. Apply a primer to your nose. This will help lock in the moisture and will create a smooth canvas for your foundation. I like Korres Face Primer $9.00
  4. Apply your foundation to the red area by gently tapping it in - so as not to rub anything away.
  5. Set with a light powder. If this step highlights any stubborn dry skin that isn’t ready to come off, warm it up slightly by touching it with your fingers – this should take the edge off the powder and reduce the visibility of the dry skin.
