Okay, we’ve all heard the dermatologists mantra – “The safest tan is a fake tan”
but this annoying mantra stops short of the vital information needed to complete the higher beauty routine – what product – how do I apply it – are there any secret tips to getting it even???
Well as you know, new products are launched at an almost hourly rate making it hard to keep on top of the latest and greatest products on the shelves – so here are my current top three:
What Product?
St. Tropez Every Day Moisturizer and sunless tanner $21.00 4.5 Stars
Smells good for a sunless tanner. Loved the moisturizing effects on the skin. Tan was subtle.
Neutrogena Sunless Tanning Spray $10.49 4.0 stars
Easy application, great color. Price point makes this a great overall choice.
Hawaiian Tropic Island Radiance Crème $9.49 3.5 stars
Easy to apply, felt slightly sticky after application though. Great color, looked very natural.
How to apply?
Apply it systematically so you don’t miss any areas and pay careful attention to your knees, ankles, feet, elbows, hairline and hands, as these are dead giveaway points! Wash your hands, paying particular attention in between your fingers, as these will radiate a toxic orange color for days if neglected.
Any tips to getting it even?
Ladies – skin prep is vital when you apply fake tanners – freshly scrubbed and moisturized skin is the best foundation for an even fake tan. For best results scrub yourself daily in the shower for at least four days before you start applying a sunless tanner.
